This project was all about craftsmanship. Designed by Commercial Artisans for Herron School of Art & Design, this limited-edition book brought together rich paper textures, specialty inks, and beautiful finishing techniques.
The dust jacket was printed in full color on Mohawk Options Crystal White 80lb Text, foil stamped in silver, and scored at the spine to wrap smoothly around the book. The cover itself wasn’t printed—it used Mohawk Loop Straw Antique Vellum 110lb Cover for a raw, kraft paper look that made a bold first impression.
Inside, the book was divided into three unique sections:
- Pages 1–16 were printed in black and PMS 021 on Mohawk Loop Ivory Smooth 80lb Text.
- Pages 17–28 featured a short-sized insert (6.2875” x 10.5”), printed in black and PMS 116 on Mohawk Loop Straw Antique Vellum 80lb Text.
- Pages 29–44 were printed in process color with a satin aqueous coating on Mohawk Options Crystal White 80lb Text, and included a fold-out page.
All text forms were hand-collated due to the special insert section. The book was then perfect bound, trimmed on all three sides, and finished with hand-applied dust jackets.
